PCT Reminder
 IP Classifications Minimize

All types of Intellectual Property which are regulated by IP Offices have at least one classification system associated with them.

Many of these classifications are world wide. The main ones of these are:

Patents - the International Patent Classification housed at WIPO

Trade Marks - the Nice classification for goods and services WIPO, and the Vienna classification for logos and devices used in marks at WIPO

Designs - the Locarno classification at WIPO

There are also classification systems for plant varieties and for geographical areas used as indications of origin, but these tend to be on a country by country basis.
